Electric motocross just leveled up. Stark Future has introduced the VARG MX 1.2 the next evolution of its game-changing electric dirt bike. This updated model brings improved powertrain efficiency, extended range, and a cutting-edge onboard computer that doubles as a rugged, military-grade Android phone. True to form, the VARG MX 1.2 isn’t just keeping pace with gas-powered rivals it’s leaving them in the dust.
Stark Future is riding a wave of momentum, both in performance and business. Its bikes have pushed boundaries so far that the VARG has been banned from the X-Games a testament to its disruptive capabilities. Meanwhile, the company is already boasting early profitability, an impressive feat in today’s EV landscape.
New Bike, New Rules.
At its core, the VARG MX 1.2 still packs the same brutal 80 hp (60 kW) electric motor that made the original a beast easily outperforming traditional 450cc gas bikes. But this time, it’s more versatile than ever. Riders can now fine-tune power output from 10 to 80 hp (7.5–60 kW) on the fly, with enhanced control over both the power delivery and motor braking. In short, it’s like having an entire lineup of high-performance bikes rolled into one and each mode is an absolute thrill.

Helping riders unlock all that power is the Arkenstone a handlebar-mounted smart device that’s far more than just a display. This rugged Android-based unit doubles as a military-grade smartphone and connects wirelessly to the bike. Need to switch power modes mid-lap? Easy. Want GPS tracking, lap timing, and live course data? It’s all built in. Stark has even teamed up with a major map provider to deliver accurate terrain info and real-time splits no extra apps or gadgets required.

Performance still reigns supreme. The VARG MX 1.2 packs a new 7.2 kWh battery housed in a lightweight magnesium honeycomb case, delivering up to 20% more range than before. That means longer sessions, more aggressive riding, and fewer stops to recharge. And yes it still churns out a jaw-dropping 973 Nm of torque at the rear wheel. That’s not a typo. That’s pure electric madness.
The VARG MX 1.2’s chassis sees major upgrades too. Stark reengineered the frame with a stronger yet lighter steel alloy, trimming nearly a kilogram while enhancing flex and rider feedback. The suspension also got a serious upgrade premium KYB components now offer 310mm of travel and customizable spring rates tailored to rider weight, delivering pro-level adjustability rarely seen from stock bikes.

Designed to Dominate the Dirt
This new version brings several hardware upgrades too. It comes equipped with a rugged overmolded wiring harness, a lighter, more efficient gearbox, and your choice of high-performance Dunlop or Pirelli tires. There’s even a reinforced skid plate made from biodegradable materials performance meets sustainability. And if you’re really chasing every gram, optional titanium hardware can trim another 900 grams off the bike’s weight.

Racing is where weaknesses show and strengths are proven. With the VARG MX 1.2, we’ve turned competition into development; every race, every rider, every condition feeds into what we build. This bike is the direct result of that process. It’s taken a lot of sweat, hard work, and constant learning to raise the bar for what’s possible in motocross. We’re not just keeping up-we’re delivering more traction, more stability, more features, and a longer range. We’re pushing the boundaries.
Sébastien Tortelli (two-time World Champion), Stark Future – Racing Director
Motocross icon Kevin Windham was blown away after a test ride. “I’ve ridden everything there is to ride, and this is the future,” he said, praising the bike’s intuitive feel, lightning-fast response, and how instantly comfortable it felt even after years spent riding gas-powered machines. He described the bike as “responsive and predictable,” adding that it lets you “focus on riding instead of managing a machine.” They believe this kind of experience could “become the new normal sooner than people think.”

Maintenance? Almost a non-issue. Thanks to its simplified electric powertrain no pistons, clutches, or filters the VARG MX 1.2 slashes maintenance costs. Stark claims riders can save up to $5,000 in upkeep costs over just 100 hours of riding compared to conventional gas-powered dirt bikes. And in an industry where warranties are often an afterthought, Stark stands out by offering a full two-year warranty on the entire bike peace of mind included.
While electric bikes often come with higher upfront costs, the new Stark delivers surprising value offering premium performance at a price that’s competitive for its class.
