Heybike has officially launched its latest flagship fat-tire e-bikes under the new X Series – the Mars 3.0 and Ranger 3.0 Pro both loaded with significant upgrades in performance, comfort, and cutting-edge tech. Whether you’re chasing high speeds or prefer smooth, long-distance rides, these models aim to deliver the best of both worlds.

Leading the charge is the Mars 3.0 a powerhouse built for adrenaline junkies. Heybike’s Mars 3.0 is powered by the advanced Galaxy Perform eDrive System, combining a 750W motor with 95 Nm of torque to deliver powerful, responsive performance on any terrain. And when you push it to the limit, the peak output surges up to a thrilling 1,400W, giving riders serious acceleration whether throttling or using pedal assist.

Thanks to its powerful setup, the Mars 3.0 delivers rapid acceleration with Heybike claiming it can reach 20 mph (32 km/h) in just six seconds. Speed enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the bike’s default Class 2 settings can be unlocked via the Heybike app or onboard display to reach Class 3 speeds of up to 28 mph. And if you’re really looking to max it out, the display allows tuning beyond 30 mph.

While the display technically lets you set the top speed as high as 99 km/h (60 mph), the real-world performance seems to plateau around 30 mph a limit defined more by physics than firmware.

Of course, speed means nothing without control and the Mars 3.0 delivers on both fronts. It features a full-suspension setup, with a hydraulic front fork and a Horst-link rear system that smooths out everything from city streets to rugged trails.

To match its powerful performance, the bike comes equipped with upgraded hydraulic disc brakes and robust 180 mm rotors that are 2.0 mm thick giving you confident stopping power when you need it most. Plus, the inclusion of a torque sensor ensures a more intuitive, responsive pedal assist, offering a smoother and more natural ride than traditional cadence-based systems.

Sure, not many riders will be pedaling at 30 mph but at more practical speeds, the Mars 3.0 offers a noticeably smoother pedaling experience than most budget e-bikes.

As for range, it’s powered by a 624 Wh battery (48V 13Ah) that boasts up to 65 miles (105 km) on a single charge. While that number sounds impressive on paper, real-world results will vary and hitting that max range typically requires sticking to the lowest pedal assist setting. Still, it’s a strong spec that’s bound to catch the eye of range-conscious shoppers.

In contrast, the Ranger 3.0 Pro is built for riders who value comfort and extended range yet it still holds its own with a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), proving it doesn’t compromise on performance.

This folding fat-tire e-bike features a step-through frame, making it ideal for relaxed, extended rides. Like its sibling, the Mars, it’s powered by the Galaxy Perform eDrive System but with slightly different tuning. The motor still delivers 750W of nominal power, though torque is dialed down to 80 Nm, with a peak output of 1,200W. It’s just as quick off the line, hitting 0–20 mph in the same time, but its focus is clearly on comfort and extended range, not aggressive riding.

Powered by a high-capacity 720Wh removable battery, the Ranger 3.0 Pro boasts an impressive range of up to 90 miles (145 km) on a single charge provided you’re riding under optimal conditions. Of course, real-world mileage will vary, especially if you’re pushing higher speeds or relying heavily on the throttle.

Thanks to the swappable battery design, riders can easily carry a spare and potentially double their range a major advantage for commuters, tourers, or weekend adventurers. Even better, the battery can be accessed without folding the hefty 70 lb (32 kg) frame, adding convenience to its list of long-distance perks.

The Ranger 3.0 Pro takes comfort to the next level with a hydraulic front fork, an adjustable rear air shock, and oversized Kenda fat tires that effortlessly soak up rough terrain and road vibrations. Its hydroformed frame not only adds strength but also gives it a sleeker, more refined look a definite upgrade over the typical folding fat-tire bike.

Despite their different personalities, both the Mars and Ranger models share several high-tech features introduced in the new X Series. Heybike’s smart access system offers flexible unlocking options, allowing riders to use an NFC card, enter a PIN on the display, or connect through the Heybike app for quick, keyless access.

Both bikes also sport a new TFT display that’s bright, easy to read, and packed with ride data. Riders can customize how the throttle behaves whether it mimics the pedal assist level or operates independently up to 28 mph. You can even adjust throttle and pedal assist sensitivity for anything from smooth, gradual starts to quick, punchy takeoffs.

Heybike has also packed the X Series with thoughtful, real-world upgrades. The electronics now carry an IP65 water-resistance rating, so riding in the rain won’t be a concern. A Shimano Altus 8-speed drivetrain pairs seamlessly with the torque sensor for smooth, efficient pedaling across varied terrain.

Cargo capacity sees a major improvement too both models come with integrated rear racks and support a combined payload of up to 440 lb (200 kg), making them ideal for hauling gear, groceries, or extra weekend essentials.

And yes, they still fold. In fact, the folding mechanism has been redesigned with improved hinges and faster latching, bringing the fold time down to just around 10 seconds pretty impressive for bikes with chunky fat tires.

Heybike has clearly stepped up its design game with the X Series, opting for premium, automotive-grade finishes that are built to last and sure to catch attention. For riders seeking a more exclusive touch, the Ranger 3.0 Pro also comes in a bold “Miami Sunset” Limited Edition with only 200 units available, it’s built for those who want to stand out.

As a fan of eye-catching design (and someone secretly hoping vintage e-bikes become collectible one day), limited edition colorways always strike a chord with me.

Surprisingly, the pricing remains competitive considering the features on offer. The Mars 3.0 is priced at $1,299, while the Ranger 3.0 Pro comes in at $1,499. The Miami Sunset Limited Edition commands a slight premium at $1,599 still a solid value for an e-bike with this level of design and tech.
