Mahindra has taken the wraps off a new electric SUV that looks like it belongs in Gotham City. In collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, the automaker has launched the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition a limited-run EV inspired by Christopher Nolan’s iconic Dark Knight trilogy. With its bold design, stealthy stance, and cinematic touches, this special edition SUV promises to turn heads both on and off the road.
A Design Straight from Gotham
The BE 6 Batman Edition’s outer design leaves no doubt, it’s built to channel the spirit of Gotham’s protector. Draped in a custom Satin Black paint finish, the SUV radiates a dark, commanding presence. The look is further enhanced by eye-catching highlights in Alchemy Gold, which accent the brake calipers and suspension components. Completing the menacing stance are aggressive 20-inch alloy wheels, perfectly filling out the muscular wheel arches and adding to the Batmobile-inspired aura.
Of course, no Batman-themed vehicle would be complete without the legendary Bat emblem. The iconic symbol from The Dark Knight trilogy has been carefully placed across the SUV, appearing on the hub caps, rear bumper, and front quarter panels. The “Infinity Roof” carries the iconic emblem, complemented by LED projection lights that cast the Bat signal onto the ground each time the doors open. To make its exclusivity clear, a special badge on the rear highlights the vehicle’s limited-edition status.
Inside the Batcave on Wheels
Inside, the interior transforms into a setting that could easily suit Bruce Wayne’s refined taste. The interior is finished in charcoal leather and suede, accented by gold sepia stitching for an upscale yet dramatic look. The driver’s seat is highlighted by a brushed gold halo, while the dashboard proudly displays an Alchemy Gold plaque that identifies the unique number of each vehicle in the 300-unit production run.
The cabin proudly wears its Batman identity, with embossed headrests, a themed Boost button, and door straps designed in a racing style with Batman Edition branding. The digital experience also gets a custom makeover, with the infotainment system featuring a special Batman-themed welcome animation and unique exterior sound effects engineered exclusively for this edition.
Electric Power Meets Dark Knight Style
While the BE 6 Batman Edition stands out for its design, it also delivers strong performance underneath its caped exterior. Built on Volkswagen’s proven MEB platform, this SUV houses a 79 kWh battery pack, capable of delivering up to 550 km of range (WLTP) on a full charge. The rear-mounted motor generates 282 hp and 380 Nm of torque, providing seamless acceleration that feels equally at home in daily traffic or on longer weekend journeys.
Mahindra has packed the BE 6 with advanced technology, highlighted by a Level 2 ADAS system that supports steering, braking, and acceleration in defined driving scenarios. This system assists with steering, braking, and acceleration under certain conditions, enhancing safety and convenience. The cabin also integrates multiple digital displays, including one uniquely positioned in the center of the steering wheel hub though this has prompted debate over its compatibility with airbag function in the event of an accident.
A Collector’s Dream in Limited Numbers
The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition presents Indian buyers with a once-in-a-lifetime collector’s opportunity. Production is capped at just 300 units, each priced at ₹27.79 lakh (around €23,500, $32,000). Pre-orders open on August 23, and given the unique theme and limited availability, demand is expected to be strong among both Batman enthusiasts and EV collectors.
