Toyota is giving its mainstream electric SUV lineup a major refresh. The automaker recently confirmed it will discontinue the bZ4X, replacing it with a fully redesigned model for 2026, now called simply the Toyota bZ. This new EV brings substantial upgrades, including improved range, enhanced performance, and the latest in automotive technology.
One key detail that was previously unknown has now been revealed: pricing. For many buyers, the starting price is a major deciding factor when choosing an electric vehicle. Toyota has announced that the 2026 bZ will start at €29,800 for the entry-level XLE front-wheel-drive (FWD) version, making it a more accessible option in the growing EV market.

This represents a €1,850 price drop compared to the outgoing bZ4X, making the 2026 Toyota bZ a more appealing choice in the competitive EV market. The base XLE FWD model comes equipped with a 57.7 kWh battery, delivering a solid 380 km of driving range on a single charge.
To address one of the biggest concerns for EV owners range anxiety Toyota is also introducing the bZ XLE FWD Plus at €32,400. This upgraded variant features a larger 74.7 kWh battery, extending the driving range to 505 km, which is a notable 25% increase over the previous model year’s top-range version.

For those seeking enhanced performance and all-weather capability, Toyota is now offering an all-wheel-drive (AWD) version, starting at €34,100. The AWD models benefit from a powerful dual-motor setup, delivering up to 388 horsepower a significant 50% increase over the previous generation. The top-tier bZ Limited trim starts at €37,000 for the FWD variant, while the fully loaded AWD version adds €1,700 to the price.
Charging has been significantly upgraded in the 2026 Toyota bZ. The SUV now comes standard with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing drivers to access Tesla’s vast Supercharger network. On top of that, Toyota has added a thermal management system and battery preconditioning, reducing the time it takes to charge from 10% to 80% to around 30 minutes under optimal conditions.
The 2026 Toyota bZ also brings notable design upgrades, both inside and out. The SUV features Toyota’s new “hammerhead” front-end design, similar to what’s seen on the latest Camry and Crown models. This gives the bZ a sharper, more modern appearance, accentuated by a slim LED light bar stretching across the front fascia.

Inside, the cabin has been significantly refreshed with a redesigned center console and improved dashboard layout. The centerpiece is a larger 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen, enhancing infotainment and connectivity. For added convenience, the SUV now features two wireless smartphone charging pads, making daily use even easier. Toyota plans for the new bZ to arrive at dealerships in the second half of 2025, bringing these updates to customers worldwide.
