The electric vehicle market is becoming more competitive by the day, with new models battling for attention through promises of longer range, quicker charging, and smarter tech. XPeng is joining the fray with its all-new P7 a sleek fastback aimed at turning heads not just with performance, but also with a tech-packed interior. After five years in development, XPeng is finally unveiling a model built to rival EV heavyweights like the Tesla Model 3 and the buzzworthy Xiaomi SU7.

XPeng has just unveiled the first look at the interior of its new flagship, and it’s clear the focus is on futuristic tech. XPeng places a bold “technology island” at the center of the P7’s cabin, featuring a massive 87-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD). This advanced system projects navigation, driver-assist notifications, and even interactive games directly onto the windshield keeping vital info in the driver’s line of sight without distractions.

Adding to the tech-forward vibe, the huge HUD is flanked by a tri-spoke sport steering wheel and a crisp digital dashboard. But the real standout is the tri-axis rotating infotainment screen, which doubles as a voice assistant. The screen, XPeng claims, can physically move and nod along with commands. It’s either charmingly high-tech or slightly unsettling you decide.

XPeng hasn’t stopped at visuals either. The P7 breaks new ground with an innovative “Touch Pad” control setup, although XPeng hasn’t revealed all the features just yet.

XPeng’s new P7 is engineered with a sharp focus on driver comfort and connection. XPeng has equipped the car with integrated front sport seats featuring active side bolsters that respond to cornering forces in just 10 milliseconds shifting up to 30 mm to keep the driver firmly supported during dynamic driving. The seats also offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions, blending high-tech support with premium comfort.

Beneath its striking design penned by French designer Rafik Ferrag the XPeng P7 offers versatile powertrain options to suit a range of driving preferences. The standard rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model features a single 270 kW motor, while the all-wheel-drive (AWD) version adds a 167 kW front motor, delivering a combined 437 kW for enhanced all-weather grip and performance.

XPeng’s latest P7 will come with two battery choices: a 74.9 kWh standard pack and a larger 92.2 kWh option for extended range. Based on China’s CLTC testing cycle, the estimated driving range is impressive up to 702 km for the standard rear-wheel-drive model and up to 820 km for the long-range RWD variant. The dual-motor AWD version balances performance and range with a maximum of 750 km on a single charge.

While CLTC figures tend to be more optimistic than the EPA or WLTP standards used in the U.S. and Europe, they still offer a useful benchmark for comparison. XPeng sources its batteries from EVE Energy and CALB.

XPeng’s entire P7 lineup rides on a cutting-edge 800-volt silicon carbide (SiC) high-voltage architecture, which is crucial to unlocking its ultra-fast charging performance. Thanks to 5C charging support, the system can deliver energy to the battery at exceptionally high speeds. For context, XPeng’s G7 SUV, which shares the same platform, can reportedly gain up to 436 km of range in just 10 minutes under ideal conditions with a compatible fast charger.

According to official regulatory filings, the XPeng P7 measures 5,017 mm long, 1,970 mm wide, and 1,427 mm tall, with a spacious 3,008 mm wheelbase ensuring ample room for passengers inside. With its futuristic tech-packed cabin, impressive performance specs, and next-gen charging capabilities, the new P7 positions itself as one of the boldest electric sedans on the market. More than just entering the global EV arena, XPeng is making it clear: it’s aiming to lead through innovation.
